Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on September 13, 2025

We at Music City Academy are working to make our site www.musiccitytacademy.org accessible to people with disabilities.

Our commitment

Music City Academy (MCA) is committed to full digital and physical access for every student, family, staff member, and visitor. We design our programs and website so people of all abilities can use them.

Standards we follow

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, Section 508, and the spirit of the ADA and Section 504. Accessibility is an ongoing effort.

What this covers

  • MCA website, forms, PDFs, emails, and videos with captions and transcripts

  • School events, printed materials, and on-campus experiences

  • Third-party tools and links we use. Some may not fully meet our standards. We advocate for better access and offer alternatives when needed.

How we build for access

  • Clear structure with semantic HTML and ARIA where appropriate

  • Keyboard access and visible focus

  • Sufficient color contrast and resizable textAlt text for images and labels and instructions for forms

  • Consistent navigation and error messages that explain what to fix

  • Captioning and transcripts for multimedia

  • Regular testing using automated scans and manual checks with keyboard, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge

Request help or an accommodation

If you need an auxiliary aid or service, alternate format, language support, or a physical access accommodation, contact us. We will respond within 2 business days and aim to resolve within 10 business days.

Report a barrier

Tell us the page or location, what you tried to do, your browser or device, and any assistive technology used. Screenshots help. We will work with you to provide what you need in a usable format.

Physical campus access

MCA works to provide accessible routes, parking, entrances, seating, and signage. Please reach out before an event if you need ASL interpretation, captioning, or other supports.

Student records and rights

Student education records are protected by FERPA. For disability-related rights and supports under Section 504 or the IDEA, contact our 504 Coordinator or Special Education team.

GrievancesIf you believe your concern was not resolved, you may file a grievance with MCA’s 504 and ADA Coordinator. You may also contact the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights.

Compatibility and limitsOur site works best on current versions of major browsers. Older software and certain third-party tools may reduce accessibility. We will provide an alternative on request.

Updates

We review this statement and our practices regularly and update as needed.
